Abstract
ABSTRACT
Abstract Any deviation to the physiological fish can cause changes to the hematological parameters. Some parameters that can indicate the presence of interference are the amount of erythrocytes, leukocytes, hematocrit and hemoglobin. Salinity is one of the environmental factors that can affect the physiological conditions of koi fish, including hematology or blood parameters. Salinity changes can trigger osmoregulation stress, which affects the balance of fluids and ions in the body of fish. The effect of koi fish salinity in the aquarium, intended to know the resistance and stress level of koi fish to some level of salinity. Activities are held at the Technical and Quarantine Methods of Animal, Fish and Planting Approaching Hall laboratory in June–December 2024. The aquarium used is 80 cm long, 40 cm wide, and 45 cm high with water height of 41 cm. Test Fish in the form of Koi Fish. The salinity used is 4 ppt (3-4 ppt) and 8 ppt (7-8 ppt). Each treatment uses 3 repeats. During the experiment fish were fed commercial feed with a protein content of at least 28% a total of 2% body weight per day. During 14 days of maintenance, the result was that salinity treatment had a noticeable effect on koi fish synthesis. The hematological parameters of erythrocytes show a decrease in salinity of 8 ppt, hematocrit and leukocytes show an increase in 8 ppt while the hemoglobin value is still within the normal limit of 6.20-8.30. Salinity treatment does not have a noticeable effect on the absolute growth of koi fish, Koi fish in general has good stunning, the lowest stunning is obtained in 8 ppt salinity. The results of the study showed that measured water quality data during the study showed that water quality parameters were at the threshold value that koi fish can still tolerate.
